A young man approached the pastor and said, “Pastor, I’m not going to church anymore!”
The pastor asked, “But why?”
The young man responded, “I see the sister who gossip about other sisters; The brother who does not follow the Bible; the praise group who are premodonas and only come to church if they perform; the people who during the service look at their cell phones, those who come late, members who do the opposite of everything the pastor teaches, those who disrespect the pastor and have no loyalty, individuals who never contribute anything to the church but take everything, and parents who don’t discipline their kids, among many other negative behaviors I observe in people at the church."
The pastor said to him, “Okay, but first I want you to do me a favor: take a glass full of water and go three laps around the church without spilling a drop of water on the floor. After that, you can leave the church.” The young man thought, “Too easy!”
He completed the three turns as the pastor had instructed. When he finished, he said, “Ready, Pastor.” The pastor asked, “While you were walking around, did you see the sister talking badly about others?” The young man responded, “No.”
“Did you see people complaining to each other?” asked the pastor. The young man replied, “No.”“Did you see someone looking at their cell phone?” questioned the pastor.Again, the young man answered, “No.”
The pastor concluded, “Do you know why? You were concentrating on the glass so you wouldn’t spill the water. The same is true in our life. When our focus is on our Lord Jesus Christ, we will not have time to see people’s mistakes.
People who leave the church because of others,It’s because they never entered because of Jesus.
